Day 5: Legho Village and meeting with mountain guides

Today the group got to enjoy an authentic Tanzanian breakfast that was followed by Papa Deo’s explanation of the coffee process. He explained how each one of us is like a coffee bean and how sometimes life hurts (like when the coffee bean is roasted), but this pain is helping us become more like Christ. After trying the coffee we made, we got in the car for the drive back to Arusha. Once we arrived back in Arusha, the Kilimanjaro team set out all their gear for their hike. Nervousness and excitement filled the air as we discussed the expectations and schedule for the days on the mountain. Dinner was served out by the pool; and everyone felt a sense of excitement and sadness as we prepared to split up for the next few days.
