Founder and President

During Drew's travels around the world, he came to learn that "life begins at the edge of your comfort zone".  Since his  first exposure to Africa, Drew wanted to give others the same opportunity to gain new perspective by getting outside of the familiar. His vision began to take shape when he led a group of friends and families to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in 2007. Those who traveled with him that summer were eager to spread the word about the “trip of a lifetime", stirring up momentum and growing steady demand that ultimately led to the birth of Beyond.  Over the years as Drew has hosted teams around the world, he has also invested in building deep relationships with locals. He’s driven by a passion to take people where they feel most alive – whether that's making memories with family or taking a break from the day to day for the very first time in years.

Drew graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Economics and received an MBA from Georgia Tech. He is also a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School in Australia. Drew has summited Kilimanjaro more than 40 times and counting and his teams boast an enviable 97 percent summit success rate. Drew is a born visionary, but first and foremost, he's a husband and a dad. He couldn’t do the work he does without the support of his wife Melissa, daughter Elizabeth Grace, and son Coe.

Nina Barnett
Director of Trip Development and Sales

A Raleigh, NC native and proud University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill grad, Nina is who is doing everything from coding to trip development to chatting with you about trips. Nina grew up traveling her whole life, and came to us to climb Kilimanjaro after she graduated college in 2019. Nina holds BA’s in both Physics and Acting, and is also previously a startup founder. Nina lives in New York where she is a stand-up comedian at comedy clubs all over the city and was one of FLIK’s 21 Womxn Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021.

David Green
Financial Consultant

After graduating from Auburn University with degrees in Finance and a Master's in Accounting, David worked in the financial and real estate service industry for over 15 years, eventually selling the company he co-founded.  Throughout this time, David's life was profoundly impacted by his executive coach.  That relationship sparked an interest in David to pursue a Master's in Counseling which he received from Richmont University.  David enjoys using both the hard and soft skills he's developed over time to serve the needs of business owners.  

David lives with his wife Lindsay and their three sons in Auburn, AL.  An entrepreneur at heart, David is involved in real estate investing, business coaching, teaching at Auburn's College of Business, and mentoring young men.

Lauren O’Grady
Executive Assistant

Lauren was raised in Denver, Colorado and attended Colorado State University where she met her husband and got her degree in Health and Exercise Science. She started her career in the health and fitness industry where she quickly discovered her passion for relationship building, connection and community. Lauren believes that traveling, learning about other cultures, building deep connections with others, and stepping outside your comfort zone broadens your perspective and appreciation for the world. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, enjoying the beautiful Colorado landscape, running, reading and spending time with her husband Jackson and son Nash.
