Day 13 and 14: The Royal Livingstone Hotel and Botswana safari
One Kili climb, two flights and three custom stops later – we arrived in an oasis away from the madness. Welcomed with open arms, singing and an impromptu African drum circle, we all let out sighs of relief and awe over what the beauty of the Royal Livingstone Hotel had to offer. Let the much needed rest and relaxation (R&R) begin.

What a gorgeous place to be refreshed after a week long trek up and down Mount Kilimanjaro. The Royal Livingston hotel (Zambia) is magnificent. It was an early morning ; rising for breakfast at 6:00am and heading to Chobe River Safari by boat and Chobe Safari via Jeep. The river was a welcoming slow pace after all the miles of upward/downward climbs and tired muscles. I could have stayed on the boat all day, as the lapping waters lulled and quieted our souls. We saw many species of animals. I was so pleased that elephants were in abundance. I love those magnificent creatures! There were birds, Impala’s, Kudo, Crocodile, and the mighty lioness (napping in the shade)!
I especially loved experiencing the wild life with my husband, Doug, daughter, Sarah and many friends new and old. What a wonderful time of watching God’s amazing creatures in their habitat!!!
