Day 2: Final Gear Check in Arusha
A beautiful day began amidst broken clouds at Papa Deo's village. A time of quiet reflection allowed the team to mentally prepare for the adventure ahead.
Papa Deo treated the team to a wonderful analogy of God's work in us using the refinement and roasting process of coffee beans.
Closing the time at Legho village, the team headed back to Arusha, navigated by a VERY compliant and law abiding driver who, despite his Boy Scout adherence to Tanzanian law, was still awarded with an arbitrarily administered speeding ticket.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Gil's quest to locate his wayward bag continued, having been imprisoned and then abandoned by three separate airlines, all of which disavowed responsibility.
Finally, the day came to a close with a banquet and birthday celebration for Frank's 50th, which had been heretofore squandered at the hands of the fine men and women of the Tanzanian Highway Patrol. The highlight of the celebration was the surprise appearance of Steve and Dyan Larmey, who bid our intrepid visitors a find farewell.
