Day 10: Final Day in Arusha

Today was our last day in Arusha. The McCartys departed for their safari adventure this morning while the rest of the group slept in. After eating a little breakfast at the buffet, we piled in the car and headed to a mini coffee tour and shopping.

After picking up various African trinkets to remind us of our Trip and plenty of Tanzanite, we went back to the hotel for massages and to get ready for dinner. We ate out at the Coffee Lodge, which is a really nice restaurant in Arusha, and enjoyed a night of reflection. One of the most touching parts of the night was learning more about how impactful YoungLife Africa has been in bringing people closer to Jesus. As a high schooler and YoungLife student, I found the dedication Chris and Kalisa have to their ministry work incredibly impactful and inspiring. I feel like many of us were moved by their service to others and their commitment to advancing the Kingdom of God.

After singing happy birthday to Kate and Rachel for the 10th time, we finished our meals and headed back to the hotel…

And so, as our journeys in Africa come to a close, I wanted to thank God for his goodness to all of us this whole trip. I thank Him for health for all of us, for safety, for my dad (who is super awesome!), for good weather, for fun, for the guides and the porters, and for the people. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe that God was intentional in bringing all 18 of us together. I am so blessed to have shared this experience of hiking not only with my Dad, but everyone on the team. Each and every one of the members have impacted me in a unique way, and I thank God for the amazing relationships He has provided on this trip.

This will be the last blog update for our crew! So much love to those who have been following along with our adventure and to those who have been praying for us. I can’t wait to see what future adventures God has in store for all of us.

This trip was so epic!!! God is so good!!!
