Day 1 Journal Entry ~ Murphy Brennan

Hi everyone - Murphy (trip host) here! 

I’m happy to report that all 7 hikers arrived safely to the Mount Meru Hotel after traveling all the way from Washington, Colorado, Georgia, and Indiana. It was a full 24+ hours of travel for most, but thankfully everything went smoothly—from flights and layovers to making it through Kilimanjaro International Airport without any issues.

Tonight is all about settling in, getting some much-needed rest, hydrating, and trying to convince our bodies what time zone we're actually in! Tomorrow we'll get to explore Arusha, experience YoungLife Africa Sokone One club, meet our guide team, and prepare for the climb with a mountain safety briefing and final gear check.

We'll be updating this blog at the end of each day so you can follow along with our journey in Tanzania and on Mount Kilimanjaro. For now, we're off to catch up on sleep and do our best to shake off the jet lag :)
