Day 8: Dingboche
This morning the group left from Dingboche. The weather quickly turned into rain, then sleet, then snow. By the time we made it to lunch the snow was coming down really hard. The group was able to warm up and dry off over lunch. We also chatted with our new friends from Florida and Denmark. The group bundled back up after lunch to finish the next two hours to Dingboche. The group also entered prime snow leopard territory. We’re hopeful to see one of the elusive and majestic creatures. The group was thankful to arrive at the tea house and dried off by the fire for several hours. We played uno with Lalit and he continued with another triumphant victory over the group. However, Adele was able to win once before we broke for dinner. The blizzard we walked through knocked out the WiFi and all of the power in the village. It’s truly an adventure being in a snow storm in the Himalayas. The group went to bed early and looks forward to a climitization hike and rest day tomorrow.
