From Sarria’s hills in Spain we came,
With new socks, shoes and hearts aflame.
New friends, old friends side by side,
Upon the ancient Way we’d stride.

There’s Javi our Spaniard leading the cheer, with Lindsay and Ann bringing Joy far and near. Debbie, David and Donna with smile shining wide, Rosa Marie and Brandy dancing and translating at our side. Pat and Leslie shared stories keeping our spirits alive, while Andrew and Jenny on the Camino cards thrived. Phil and Linda brought much kindness each day, and Mary and Chandler made sure we all found our way!

Sweet Bethlynn and Brian always close at hand. Their stories encouraged all of us to stand. Ellie turned each day to a song that filled us with light, and Johns vision to gather as pilgrims made the trip oh so bright.
As we walked on the road new souls appeared,
Some named Chris and Sarah we cheered.
Though countless others crossed our way,
Their kindness blessed us day by day.

For six short days our packs we bore,
Yet somehow carried so much more.
Through blisters, wrong turns, and aching feet,
Through foggy mornings and blister meds like compeed.
We learned to share each other’s load,
Along the winding pilgrim road.
The hard-told stories, whispered pain,
And hopes reborn like springtime rain. The birds would sing through forest air,
And God’s creation met us there.
The sunrise painted skies above,
Reminding us of heaven’s love.
And quiet prayers within the soul
Began to heal and make us whole.

“Enjoy the journey,” came the call,
“For holiness walks through it all.”
And from Ephesians hope would rise:
God does far more than we devise.
Abundantly His mercies flow,
Beyond the dreams we even know. Psalm Thirty-Seven gently said,
“Choose faith when fear would rule instead.
Walk patiently, let grace endure,
For God’s strong help remains secure.”
Our Ebenezer standing true,
A monument of grace anew. And Psalm Forty-Six drew near:
“Be still, My child, I’m always here.”

A river full of endless grace
Can outrun every faltering pace.
When weary hearts could scarcely trod,
We heard, “Be still and know I’m God.” Philippians called our minds to stay
On what is lovely day by day.
On what is pure and right and true,
The light of Christ shining through.
For every pilgrim on this way
Was sent to bear God’s light each day. In Santiago’s cathedral grand,
We reached the end hand in hand.
Where Saint James rests beneath the stone,
A witness faith can make us known.
Not perfect men, but hearts transformed,
By walking close to Christ our Lord. And there we learned love’s height and depth,
Its endless width, its living breath.

That we are children dearly known,
Forever held, forever home. Now weary legs return once more,
Yet richer far than days before.
For though the Camino reached its end,
The deeper journey will not bend. We carry memories, prayers, and grace,
The laughter shared from place to place.
And this truth shines through joy and pain:
No step with Christ is walked in vain. For every road His hand makes new,
And heaven waits beyond our view.
So onward still our hearts will roam,
Until His love shall call us home.
