Day 3: Legho Village

JOURNAL ENTRY BY JOHNNY VRBA

This was the best day of my life to date! I rose around 5:00AM to watch the prettiest sunset I have ever set eyes on. Then we ate a healthy breakfast and set off for the school. When we arrived, we were greeted by a great number of children smiling in our direction. The teachers were incredibly appreciative as we dropped off a load of soccer balls, pumps, and tons of school supplies.

After taking an iconic selfie with the school children...the games began. We played for what seemed like an eternity. Soccer, football, frisbee, duck duck goose, sing alongs, races, and dance offs just to name a few. The young school children vs. Americans was an intense soccer game but the youngsters crushed the big kids in the end! We also painted classrooms for the children as we were playing throughout the day.

Later on, we played against the older locals in soccer and we were once again obliterated. However, when it came to volleyball, the Americans took the victory!

When we came back to the village, the entire group was exhausted. Going to bed before 8:00PM was a first for me. I was excited to wake up early again for another unforgettable sunrise.
