The Rivers
The South Holston River and the Watauga River are two of the south’s premiere trout fishing experiences, providing year-round great fishing opportunities, with excellent quality guide services available. Beautiful streams flowing through the Appalachian foothills filled with native brown trout, as well as brook and rainbow. The fish are wild, and water temperatures stay in the low 50s allowing great spawning and frequent hatches. No trout chow needed here!
The Accommodations
For those who seek a luxury hotel that is unique, tranquil and brimming with character, you have come to the right place.
The Carnegie Hotel is a AAA Four Diamond property and is the perfect combination of Old World grandeur and modern comfort. Here you can appreciate the luxury of our Baroque style décor which includes antiques, stained glass medallions, Tiffany style lamps and sleigh beds while still enjoying the modern amenities and services today’s business and leisure travelers have come to expect including complimentary wireless Internet access, a 24-hour fitness center and much more.
The Guides
The guides we use are true local pros who grew up fishing these rivers. They know the trophy waters like back of their hand, have spent their entire lives guiding trips like ours, and take great pride in hosting us. It’s a family owned business who always exceeds our expectations. Our trip utilizes “Floating” fishing in River Boats, as opposed to “Wading” standing on the banks, rod in hand.
The Cuisine and Culture
Whether dining at the hotel or at local restaurants specializing in top-quality southern food, you will return home dreaming of the delicious meals and memories made at meal time.
